 Would someone please explain to me just what the fuck that was? I'm not on this ship for a week and shit gets fucked up. I think someone owes me an explanation as to what the fuck this fucking ship actually fucking is.

Crap, and you just got here. Um. That was a Breach. You see, we're on this weirdass sort of transdimensional vessel that seems to travel the spaces between different parallel worlds. As far as anyone can tell, what happens is this. If we kinda brush close to one of the worlds, we get kind of minor effects for three, four days called a Flood. If we run smack into one of them we get completely inundated and local reality changes entirely. Everyone, everything, gets affected. You become a different person--part of the world we just ran into. That's what happened this time. Sometimes he deliberately lands us on a world--that's a Port--and if you fall overboard while he's docking you become part of that world too.

Oh, and uh...Ports are only good places to go about half the time.

Truth is that I usually cope with Breaches by thinking of it as a really fucked up dream.
